About Mrs. Cook

     I am so excited about this school year!  This is my fifth year teaching at Meigs Magnet, and I feel very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful school. 
     I love being a member of the 5th grade team.  The first year of middle school is an exciting time for parents and students, and I enjoy experiencing the year with them.  I am thankful for the opportunity to teach my favorite subjects: language, reading, and social studies, but social studies is my true passion.  I like to watch the stories of the past come
alive for my students through novels, stories, and pictures. 
     When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog, Gunther.  I frequently have funny stories about the silly things our bulldog does just to entertain us.  We love having barbecues at our house with family and friends.  I just graduated with my Master's in Educational Leadership and Administration from Trevecca University.  Earning this degree has been a great experience and has allowed me to grow as a
person and a teacher.
     I am looking forward to a wonderful year at Meigs.  I want all of my students to succeed and thrive, and I hope to help them accomplish this any way that I can.  Welcome to Meigs!  We are going to have a great year!
